1940 Wyandotte, No.24 Red Ranger Clicker Pistol in Original Box
Wyandotte combined the Lone Ranger with Red Ryder to create Red Ranger. Although he never had a radio show or comic he was copyrighted to sponsor some awesome toys. The first was this Red Ranger lithoed steel clicker pistol. Beautifully designed it comes complete with its original box. This all metal pistol weighs a hefty ¼ pound. It's realistically detailed with embossed stationary parts such as the cylinder and hammer. The silver and red lithography set against the metal-gray gun surface really makes it look fantastic. A portrait of Red appears on each side of the frame. Adjacent to the portrait are the "Red Ranger" and Wyandotte logos. The edges are trimmed in silver and highlighted with crimson red details. A light squeeze of the trigger produces its well recognized clicking sound. The illustrated box beautifully compliments the fancy gun lithography. It's entirely printed in bold contrasted colors of mandarin orange and deep blue on a white background. The box features a large detailed drawing of Red alongside a wide graphic of the pistol. The name of the toy and company name were printed in the lower right corner. The side panels have an identical image of Red, but smaller. He also was drawn with word balloons so it appears more like a comic book than a printed illustration. Endflaps include the catalog number and company information. Size: 8". Sold: Feb. 2007
